§ 1

I. Concessionary tickets are available upon presentation of the relevant documents:

1) pupils in the education system, students at social work colleges, undergraduates and postgraduate students who are citizens of the Member States of the European Union, the Swiss Confederation and the member states of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) – parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area,

2) persons over 65 years of age, pensioners, disability pensioners and social security pensioners, as well as persons with disabilities accompanied by carers (one person with a disability + one carer), who are citizens of the Member States of the European Union, the Swiss Confederation and the Member States of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) – parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area,

3) teachers at schools and educational institutions, reform schools and shelters for minors, and schools operating in the Member States of the European Union, the Swiss Confederation and the Member States of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) – parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, schools run by social organisations abroad, registered in a database maintained by an authorised body subordinate to the minister responsible for education and upbringing, teaching Polish language, history, geography, Polish culture or other subjects taught in Polish in:

– schools operating within the education systems of other countries,

– Polish sections operating within the education systems of other countries,

– European Schools operating under the Convention defining the Statute of the European Schools, drawn up in Luxembourg on 21 June 1994;

4) holders of an ISIC – International Student Identity Card and a Euro 26 Card,

5) under the nationwide Large Family Card and the Kraków Family Card 3+, the following are entitled to:

  • an 80% discount on standard admission prices to permanent galleries and temporary exhibitions for: a parent (parents), including foster parent(s) or the person(s) running a family-based children’s home, the parent’s spouse, and the child – which also includes a child over whom the parent exercises family foster care – and the person referred to in Article 37(2) of the Act of 9 June 2011 on Family Support and the Foster Care System.
  • Free admission for children from large families: up to the age of 18
  • Free admission for students from large families up to the age of 25
  • Free admission for pupils or students holding a certificate of moderate disability.
  • Admission for 1 zloty for every pupil from a large family for a museum lesson
  • 50% discount on participation in weekend family workshops for children from large families up to the age of 12,

6) Under the Krakow Card scheme, a 20% discount is available on admission tickets to permanent exhibitions for standard, concession and family tickets.

7) Pupils and students up to the age of 26 are entitled, under the “Accessible Culture” programme, to a ticket priced at 1 PLN gross for all permanent exhibitions at the Museum.

8) Employees of institutions entitled to a discount with the consent of the Director of the MNK on the basis of signed agreements.

9) MNK staff and their children are entitled to a 50% discount on educational workshops for individuals, including passes for educational series and museum lessons. (The discount does not apply to fees for educational activities where the basic price is set at less than 5 PLN gross.)

II. Free tickets for permanent and temporary exhibitions are available upon presentation of the relevant documents:

1) to individuals awarded the Order of the White Eagle, the Virtuti Militari War Order, the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland, the “Gloria Artis” Medal for Merit to Culture, the “For the Care of Monuments” badge, the “Distinguished Cultural Activist” badge of honour, the “Distinguished for Polish Culture” badge of honour, or the honorary title “Distinguished for National Culture”,

2) employees of museums entered in the State Register of Museums,

3) members of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) and the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS),

4) holders of the Polish Card,

5) children under the age of seven,

6) veterans and disabled veterans,

7) war veterans

8) Polish citizens who were activists in the anti-communist opposition, and Polish citizens who were persecuted for political reasons

9) holders of special invitations issued by the Director of the National Museum in Kraków,

10) holders of the “Free Admission Card to all museums under the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage”

11) members of the Association of Art Historians

12) members of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA)

13) journalists,

14) city guides in Krakówch.

§2

I. The following documents serve as proof of eligibility for a reduced admission fee or exemption from the admission fee for museums:

  • school, student, course participant, postgraduate student and PhD student ID cards,
  • pensioner ID cards,
  • ID cards documenting disability or the degree of disability,
  • service ID cards,
  • ID cards certifying the award of a badge, order or medal,
  • certificates or ID cards confirming veteran status,
  • ICOM Membership Card and ICOMOS Membership Card,
  • Polish Card,
  • document confirming age,
  • press card,
  • tour guide ID card
  • Large Family Card,
  • ISIC Card,
  • Euro 26 Card
  • Krakow Family Card 3+
  • Krakow Family Card for Families with a Disabled Child
  • Krakow Card

II. A person entitled to a reduced admission fee or exemption from the admission fee to museums shall present to the cashier or the ticket inspector at the Branch a valid document confirming their entitlement to a reduced admission fee or exemption from the admission fee to museums, together with their identity card or another document confirming their identity.

III. Ticket inspectors shall carry out routine checks of tickets, invitations and free admission cards.

IV. Cashiers and ticket inspectors report directly to the Head of the Museum Branch.

V. Invitations for the media are issued by the MNK Marketing Department.

VI. An admission ticket is a printed ticket with a barcode or a receipt from the till

VII. In accordance with Article 10(3) of the Act, the Director of the MNK may waive the admission fee or grant admission at a price of PLN 1 per person upon a written request from the persons concerned. The Director may authorise MNK staff to grant the aforementioned permission on his behalf, provided that admission is consistent with the purpose and mission of the MNK, and in particular serves to make the collections available for educational purposes or to conduct educational activities with people with disabilities or those who are socially excluded.
