Snow (1907) is part of a series created between 1902 and 1913, depicting a winding river across a snow-covered field. The artist became famous for large-format gouaches and watercolours showing hunting scenes from Belarusian forests, villages, and gardens. This relatively small oil painting (180 × 200 cm) belongs to a cycle representing a river winding through a snowy field. The painting in the MNK collection is one of the particularly successful works from this series due to its simple composition, the perspective used (low viewpoint), and expressive shadows.
