Sunday sensory tours for families with children are a chance to experience art. We invite you to a multi-sensory tour of the exhibitions and galleries of the National Museum in Kraków, accompanied by an educator. Family tours allow both children and adults to explore the exhibition in a way that suits them best. It is an opportunity to discuss, laugh and dream together.
We invite carers with children aged 6–10 to join us for a walk together, during which you’ll be able to touch, try on and smell the educational props; younger or older siblings are also welcome to join.
The tours are family-oriented — children and carers discover art together, working side by side. It is not possible to leave children unattended or to stray from them during the tour. Carers are responsible for the safety and appropriate behaviour of children in the Museum.
This time, we invite you to the Numismatic Cabinet. How has the way we pay for goods and services changed over the centuries? What is a coin, and does it always have to be round and flat? What do shells and salt have to do with money? You will find the answers to these and other questions during Sunday’s guided tour for families with children.
Using magnifying glasses, we’ll take a closer look at the rich imagery on coins, peek inside a leather purse, hold coin dies in our hands, and finally discover the weight of money – both literally and figuratively. As we step back in time, we’ll feel like real coin makers or collectors.
