IT Specialist

The National Museum in Kraków is a cultural institution with a tradition stretching back over 140 years. The collections in our care comprise one million exhibits, and our mission is to promote Polish and international art. We currently employ nearly 600 staff across more than a dozen branches located in Kraków and Zakopane.

Responsibilities:

• IT support (helpdesk) for Museum staff,
• troubleshooting issues that do not require specialist service equipment,
• installation and configuration of computer hardware and basic software in a Windows environment,
• ensuring proper maintenance and reporting ongoing repairs to computer equipment (liaising with service providers and specialists),
• supervising work carried out by external companies commissioned by the IT department,
• server administration:
• – Active Directory domain server (Windows),
• – mail server (Linux),
• – FTP server (Linux),
• – antivirus software on end-user workstations (Windows),
• – CISCO AMP antivirus software management console
• – virtualisation system,
• system administration: ERP, printing, security and control of email correspondence
• performing backups of designated resources,
• granting access to subordinate IT systems based on company requests,

Requirements:

• a degree in IT or a technical field,
• at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role,
• practical experience in system administration – Windows, Linux,
• knowledge of:
• – virtualisation environments – VMware,
• – computer hardware and software,
• – IT system security issues,
• – IT infrastructure networking issues,
• knowledge of English at B2/C1 level,
• communication skills and the ability to work in a team,
• creativity in problem-solving,
