
The Society of Friends of the National Museum in Kraków was founded in 1903 and is the oldest association of its kind in Poland.
Its founders were:At the outset, the Society’s aim was to purchase works by Polish artists; over the years, it expanded its activities to include the promotion of the museum’s collections. The Society’s current aims and objectives are set out in its Statutes.
The Society currently has around 200 members. The vast majority are people who have retired from professional life and are able to pursue their interests. We take part in many interesting events, including visits to exhibitions at the National Museum and elsewhere, and we attend lectures and other events organised by the Museum.
