The painting depicts a woman combing her long, copper-gold hair. The oval mirror shown on the canvas reflects a face sometimes interpreted as a self-portrait of the painter. The work was created while \u015alewi\u0144ski was under the influence of artists in Paul Gauguin’s circle.
